What are some of the more affordable places to get solid gold?
Main Post:

Top Comment: Gonna be that person, have you considered antique/vintage solid gold pieces? 😀
Where to buy gold at a reasonable price?
Main Post:
I have been poking around the usual places but everyone charges WAY over spot price. That means the second you buy you have already lost money. It seems gold is a rip off at most places. Is there a way to find it close to spot price anywhere?
Top Comment: try r/pmsforsale , I actually just saw gold under melt there

Is the Arma Gold worth buying for some cheap fun?

I wouldn't recommend it. Only buy it if you're running on an older computer and you still want to play some ArmA, that's what I did. Otherwise, it's really better just to stick with the latest release. If you're bored of the ArmA 3 Alpha, it would be wiser to play some ArmA II: Free or something.
[Q] Why is 'sjuush (Gold) | Antwerp 2022' so cheap?
Main Post:
It's currently the cheapest Gold player sticker. Sure, the public opinion hasn't been in Heroic's favor lately, but what makes sjuush's sticker nearly twice as cheap as refrezh's?

stop shilling the gold you opened
Cheap alternatives to gold sputtering for SEM?
Main Post:
I have non-conductive polymer samples that i'm trying to look at under an SEM. I tried using the charge-up reduction mode under the lowest voltage setting(5Kv) on un-coated samples, but could not see a thing. Metal samples work just fine so I'm convinced that the problem is with my samples and not the microscope.
Can anyone suggest an alternative to metal sputtering to coat my samples? I was thinking of dipping my sample in a salt solution and letting it dry, could this possibly work?
Top Comment:
Carbon sputtering works pretty well, but to eliminate charging in insulating samples you do pretty much have to coat them.
Buying gold to protect the value of my cash. I feel like there’s a catch.
Main Post:
I’ve always heard how gold is considered a hedge against a devaluing dollar but I feel like there’s a catch to this that is either intentionally or unintentionally being omitted. Currently have around 22k in a 3.70% interest rate savings account. What are the benefits and risks of buying physical gold with 11k
Top Comment: In the late 1800s an ounce of gold could buy you a really nice suit. Today, an ounce of gold can buy you... a really nice suit. I’m not pointing this out as a knock on gold. I own some physical gold. But, long-term, gold is primarily a preservation of wealth as a hedge against inflation.
